Ashmore Equestrian Center, Inc. is located on the northwest side of the Orlando area, approximately 30 minutes from downtown Orlando. Ashmore is set in a secluded spot, surrounded by beautiful trees and pastures and offers an ambiance that is conducive to relaxation and learning. The equestrian center borders the thirty two mile West Orange Trail that is enjoyed by many equestrians, as well as the rest of the family who may wish to cycle or walk the trail during the time the "horsey" members of the family are riding at Ashmore or walking on the trail. Clarcona Horseman's Park is one mile away from our center and is open to riders year-round at no charge. The park hosts numerous events from small schooling horse shows, geared towards both pleasure and competitive riders, to international dressage shows where olympic riders may be seen competing.
British Horse Society Facility
Ashmore Equestrian Center is proud to display the three approval plaques of the British Horse Society as a livery, riding and training facility (one of the few in the United States), and seeks to maintain the top quality care for all of the actively involved clientele at Ashmore.
To become a BHS approved facility you must qualify through making application, do a self-study and make improvements to meet the standards. Following the self-study and corrections faciliteswill have a very formal inspection of the property, examination of the equine stock at the facility, view of all records of all equinestock, an observation and examination of an upper-level lesson, and a complete walk-through of the facility. Following this formal inspection, recommendations (if necessary) aremade by the inspector for further improvements that can be made to the facility. An annual unannounced inspection will be made each year to determine that the required standards are upheld. Following the inspection the riding facility is given an official letter of acceptance, and the facility is listed on the international site for the British Horse Society.
